I’ll add fresh sketches and development work here occasionally.

She-oak sketch is inspired by the drawings of 1940s American writer and illustrator Robert McCloskey, especially his amazing book, One Morning in Maine. Drawn from the coastline near Beerbarrel Beach, St Helens, on Tasmania’s East Coast.

Charcoal Plan for Barryland was part of a series that helped me hatch out ideas for composition, light, shadow and texture for the larger painting, Barryland.
